History of John Cabot University
Established in 1956, the theater began its journey as a modest community space within the bustling downtown area. Originally named after the city’s renowned playwright, Samuel Westwood, the theater aimed to promote local talent and provide a platform for aspiring actors and directors. Over the years, it evolved into a prominent cultural hub, hosting a myriad of performances ranging from classical plays to avant-garde productions. In 1978, the theater underwent a significant renovation, expanding its seating capacity and modernizing its facilities to accommodate larger audiences and more elaborate stage productions.
